Role Summary
Architect with 10+ years of overall experience (minimum 6 years on Talend) to lead enterprise data integration, ETL, and migration initiatives. The role involves working in an offshore-onshore model serving global clients, driving architecture standards, and mentoring delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own end-to-end Talend integration architecture for complex, multi-system client engagements.
- Lead Talend migration projects (e.g., Talend 6.x to Talend 8 / Talend Cloud) including impact analysis, job conversion, and regression validation.
- Transform data using Talend components like tMap, tJoin, and custom routines
- Perform unit testing and support integration testing
- Perform impact analysis and identify deprecated components
- Ensure job, context, repository, and metadata compatibility post upgrade
- Conduct regression testing and performance validation
- Promote jobs across environments using CI/CD pipelines or manual migration
- Deploy jobs to Talend Runtime or Talend Admin Center (TAC)
- Validate dependencies (subjobs, routines, metadata) before deployment
- Document upgrade procedures and best practices
Required Skills
- 10+ years of Talend experience (DI/ESB/Cloud)
- Strong hands-on experience in Talend Data Integration and ESB
- Knowledge of handling JSON, XML, and flat file data formats
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (joins, indexing, query optimization)
- Experience with databases like Oracle Database, MySQL, or SQL Server
- Experience in writing custom Java code (Talend routines, tJava, tJavaRow)
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs integration
- Experience with job scheduling and orchestration (TAC, cron, Control-M)
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate into ETL and ESB logic
- Communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
Preferred
- Experience with Talend Data Fabric / Talend Cloud
- Linux/Unix and scripting knowledge
- Exposure to largescale environments
Nice to Have
- Handling legacy upgrades (Talend 5.x/6.x)
- Dependency (JAR) conflict resolution
