Professional Direct Tech Champ
Professional Direct for Microsoft Azure is a services & support offering targeted at mid-sized customers and ISVs . This is a customer facing role and would require the individual to act as an Azure Cloud Solution Architects / Subject Matter Expert / Technical Specialist. The Tech Champ owns the overall technical relationship . They lead architectural design sessions, adoption plans, deliver ongoing refinement and enhancement. They hand hold the customer from knowing the service to deploying the service and Influence product through proactive, actionable, and prioritized feedback representing the voice of customer. To succeed in this role, one needs to understand how to plan solutions to meet our customer's business needs.
Responsibilities Summary
- Develop high-level solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications to guide customers through their cloud transformation journey ensuring they leverage the full potential of Azure to achieve their strategic objectives.
- Proposing effective cloud strategies to meet the customer needs & deliver them through workshops, trainings & advisory services
- Lead the architecture and design of complex cloud solutions, leveraging Microsoft Azure services and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and security standards.
- The Solution Architect will collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their business requirements, technical challenges, and long-term objectives, proposing effective cloud strategies to meet their needs.
- Provide thought leadership and technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and recommending innovative solutions for our clients.
- Assess existing IT environments, applications, and infrastructure to identify opportunities for cloud adoption and migration to Azure.
- Lead and participate in the implementation and migration of cloud solutions, providing technical guidance to development teams and ensuring successful execution.
- Perform cost optimization assessments and recommend solutions to optimize cloud spend without compromising performance and security.
- Implement security best practices, data protection mechanisms, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the resilience of cloud-based systems.
- Serve as in-house technical expert with a focus on helping our customers increase their consumption by providing advisory services.
- Ability to inspire customers by communicating complex concepts in a simple, business value context with proven white boarding capabilities.
- Be a proven self-starter who takes ownership of opportunities, works independently, manages multiple simultaneous tasks, and deals well with ambiguity and last-minute changes.
- Have the ability and passion necessary to maintain technical excellence with emerging technologies, including competitive technologies, while continuing to manage customer opportunities.
- Focus on high level functions and capabilities necessary to help customers take advantage of new Azure features and functionalities.
- The Technical Specialist will be responsible to collate and provide information on the product and trending customer issues/challenges with the team along with maintaining Knowledge Base.
- Have a commitment to customer and partner satisfaction, ability to thrive in a competitive team environment.
- Track customer's requirements & work on delivering solutions in time-bound scenarios.
- Need to work in flexible time zones.
- Quickly develop client relationships and trust and ensure client/partner expectations are being set and met.
- Coach and mentor PDMs to raise the technical ability of the rest of the team, and/or to become certified in required Azure technical certifications.
- Provide training and documentation feedback, updating role documentation as needed.
Qualification And Education Requirements
Required Skills:
- Technical Specialist should have the two certs for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or be able to complete them within the first 30 days.
- Technical Specialist should stay current on the required Azure certifications, as well as new certs that are relevant. Minimum of 12+ years of experience in Azure cloud computing
- Ideal candidate will have soft skills such as, effective written & oral communications, and have the skills necessary to engage a customer in a deep technical conversation.
- Must have expertise in Azure Landing Zones, Enterprise Network Architecture, Security Reviews, and Microsoft Foundry (which is a unified Azure PaaS offering for enterprise AI operations, model builders, and application development)
- Design scalable cloud-native solutions using Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Logic Apps, API Management, Container Apps, and other Azure PaaS options.
- Ensure security, scalability, and performance best practices are followed, and lead the architecture of complex solutions using Microsoft Azure while aligning with industry standards.
Soft Skills
- Must be able to quickly develop trust and rapport with customers (most of the time they are of this profile: Enterprise Architects, Development & Test Management)
- Passion for customer advocacy in a technology domain.
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated strong stakeholder management, communication and executive presentation skills
- Ability to articulate technical issues/requirements accurately with Customer, Microsoft Services, Azure development teams at the appropriate technical depth.
- Ability to work independently.
