Job Description: IT Solution Architect (Senior)
Role Overview
The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and governing the end-to-end technical / Functional architecture required for the implementation of the Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) framework in compliance with Basel regulatory requirements. The role ensures alignment between business requirements, risk modelling systems, data architecture, and enterprise technology platforms.
The Solution Architect will collaborate with Risk, Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and Vendor teams to ensure the IRB solution integrates seamlessly with existing bank systems including Data Warehouse, Risk Engines, IFRS9 platforms, Model Lifecycle Management systems, and reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Design
- Define the target architecture for IRB implementation, including integration with existing credit risk systems.
- Design architecture supporting PD, LGD, EAD model execution and regulatory capital calculations.
- Ensure alignment with the bank's Enterprise Architecture standards.
- Provide architecture oversight for model development, model execution, and regulatory reporting components.
- System Integration
- Design integrations between Core Banking Systems, Risk Data Warehouse / Risk ODS, Model Development Platforms, Reporting and Regulatory submission platforms.
- Data Architecture
- Define data sourcing, transformation, and lineage architecture for IRB calculations.
- Ensure IRB data meets BCBS 239 data governance and quality standards.
- Define data flows for Exposure data, Collateral data, Default history, Risk parameters
- Technology Governance
- Participate in architecture governance boards and design reviews.
- Define architecture principles, standards, and technology selection.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the IRB solution.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Work with solution vendors and implementation partners to align architecture with the bank's technology landscape.
- Provide architecture guidance to development teams and project stakeholders.
Required Skills And Experience
- 10+ years of experience in banking technology architecture
- Experience implementing Basel IRB or Credit Risk systems
- Experience with risk data warehouses and regulatory reporting systems
- Strong experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Integration, Risk calculation engines
- Knowledge of ETL frameworks and data pipelines
- Strong understanding of Basel IRB framework, PD / LGD / EAD models, Credit risk data structures, BCBS 239 data governance
- Strong stakeholder communication
- Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into technical architecture
- Experience leading architecture design workshops
