About the Role
We are hiring for a key leadership role within bp's Accounting, Reporting & Controlling (ARC) function.
This is not a transactional accounting role — you will own end-to-end RTR processes, lead a team, partner with business, and drive financial accuracy, controls, and transformation

What You'll Be Doing
End-to-End Accounting Owners
- hipOwn and manage month-end and year-end close for assigned entities
- Lead complex accounting areas including inventory, pricing, and margin analysi
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financials by resolving high-impact accounting issues
- Drive quality in balance sheet and reconciliation processes
Strong Controls & Financial Governance
- Ensure robust balance sheet controls, reconciliations, and review mechanisms
- Drive adherence to IFRS and accounting policies
- Act as a go-to expert for complex accounting and judgment-based areas
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness
Managing Complexity & Driving Resolution
- Handle complex RTR issues end-to-end, from root cause analysis to long-term resolution
- Bring together stakeholders to resolve discrepancies across systems and processes
- Ensure financial data integrity across reporting cycles
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Drive accountability, performance, and high-quality output
- Set clear expectations and build a strong review culture
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Influence
- Act as a finance partner to business and operations teams
- Provide insights through variance analysis and financial commentary
- Handle stakeholder escalations with confidence and clarity
Driving Transformation & Improvement
- Identify and lead automation, standardization, and process improvements
- Simplify processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Drive measurable improvements in quality, timelines, and productivity
What We're Looking For:
Chartered Accountant with 10+ years of experience
Strong experience in:
- RTR / Controllership / Financial Reporting
- Month-end close ownership (not just execution)
- Balance sheet and reconciliation control
- Hands-on experience with SAP or large ERP systems
- Proven team leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex accounting scenarios
