Job Description
The Apprentice - Engineering Assistant will be a vital part of the Asset Engineering department, ensuring the integrity and reliability of assets. This role involves conducting inspections, identifying corrosion issues, and implementing preventive measures. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of experts, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the overall asset management strategy.
Responsibilities
- Learn the Oil & Gas value chain and important aspects of integrity & maintenance management of various Oil & Gas assets.
- Learn the importance of engineering data and support data gathering for assessment studies.
- Assisting in drafting, reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings - Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Piping Isometric Drawings (ISO) and General Arrangement Drawings (GAD).
- Learn and support developing 2D and 3D inspection isometric drawings using AutoCAD
- Learn and support model review and navigation using Navisworks (e.g., NWD/NWC files, basic model walkthroughs, clash detection and visibility checks).
- Learn basics of Non-destructive Testing (NDT) techniques as used commonly in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Support mark up of Condition Monitoring Location (CML) on piping ISO and GADs.
- Assist in preparation of drawing packages for integrity reviews, Risk-based Inspection (RBI) studies, and inspection planning.
- Assist in extraction, review and organization of engineering documents from Engineering document management system (EDMS).
Learn and Support Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Activities.
Qualifications
- Apprentice - Engineering Assistant with a Diploma in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgy Engineering.
- 0-1 year of experience in a relevant field, preferably with exposure to corrosion or asset integrity management.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software for report preparation.
