Summary Of The Role

This role supports Lubrizol's Fluid Engineering (LFE) business in India by supporting business development initiatives for the Industrial Lubricants segment. The apprentice will focus on scouting new business opportunities, building relationships across the industry, gathering market and competitor intelligence, and passing qualified leads to the sales team.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Industrial Lubricants segment.
  • Support the team to build strong relationships with industry stakeholders, customers, and channel partners.
  • Conduct field visits (minimum 40–50% of weekly time) to engage with customers, distributors, and influencers with manager.
  • Gather and analyze competitor intelligence, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Share qualified leads with the sales team and support in lead nurturing and opportunity conversion.
  • Support the establishment of a reliable channel partner network for the LFE business.
  • Prepare CRM reports, presentations, and insights based on field visits and market interactions.
  • Assist in creating marketing collaterals and business pitches tailored to customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Technical Services and Supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution of business development activities.

Education / Certification

Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

  • Graduate in Management, Marketing, Business Development, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering is preferred.

Experience And Skills

  • Fresher in business development, sales, or start-up environments focused on new business growth.
  • Should be able to learn to sell, market, and networking skills to pitch value propositions effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting and presentations.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently in field environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
