The chance has arisen to join the highly specialized Global Data & Privacy Solutions Team. We work very closely with the Global Privacy Office, GCO and Senior Leadership, at the front edge of American Express new and developing responses to enhanced Privacy Regulation worldwide.

Privacy Specialists have responsibility for handling information requests coming from customers, legal companies and other approved third parties, and managing them in line with regulatory timelines. The team validates the requests, and accurately researches and compiles information from across American Express systems, before delivering it safely and securely to the requestor.

This is a highly regulated and sensitive area of work, requiring attention to detail, access to specialist systems and a track record of ensuring timely responses to customers. Successful applicants will receive full training and support to ensure that they have all the regulatory and servicing knowledge needed.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with multiple business units and colleagues, and use multiple systems, to ensure all relevant information is collected for Data Subject and Other Data & Privacy requests.
  • Make decisions regarding the disclosure of information (full training given); ensuring clear documentation is stored for each request.
  • Ensure all information is supplied and communicated in the format requested by the requester, and securely as per InfoSec and Global Privacy guidelines.
  • Work to regulatory timelines and where required, escalate to leadership.
  • Learn and maintain a solid understanding of this high priority and high visibility area of the business.
  • Work closely with the Complaints & Privacy Enablement team to make recommendations to drive improvements in the systems and processes used to fulfil requests.
  • Communicate clearly; high degree of integrity, able to speak up for what is right as well as reporting/advancing risks and concerns
  • Build and Leverage Relationships – collaborate, engage and contribute within the team and the business to deliver the achieve the best outcomes for customers and Amex.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English is required
  • Understanding of MS Office program and willingness to learn new systems and processes such as Adobe Acrobat DC, Camtasia Studio, as well as newly developed internal systems.
  • Appetite to work in a global team, doing specialized work in an environment with high visibility to Sr Leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and prioritize the handling of tasks, escalating when required.
  • Collaborate closely with business units, and Data & Privacy team colleagues across multiple locations, and across the enterprise.
  • High level of personal accountability and ambition to move up into the Regulatory Privacy and Compliance world.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and quality focus. Willingness to learn and gain a good understanding of Privacy regulations and how it applies to our Customers Privacy Rights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment & converse fluently with card members/clients
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a true team player
  • High standard of written communication
  • Resilience and a desire to thrive under pressure
  • Strong ability to manage multiple workloads in a target driven environment

Additional Requirements

  • Shift timings between 12:30 PM till 9:00 PM weekdays , (Subject to change as per the business requirements)
  • Hybrid Environment- on site expectation 3 days/week.
  • Workplace Flexibility: Full time. Shift flexibility requirements.
