Job Description

Job Title:

Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist Level 2 (L2)

Location: Noida/Bangalore

Notice period: Only Immediate Joiners

Role Overview:

The IT Infrastructure Specialist (L2) is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes handling escalated technical issues, managing servers, networks, cloud environments, and ensuring system availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management

  • Administer and maintain servers (Windows/Linux)
  • Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability

2. Network Support

  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues, VPNs, firewalls
  • Configure routers, switches, and network devices
  • Ensure network security and performance

3. Incident & Problem Management

  • Handle L2 escalations from L1 support teams
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA)

4. Cloud & Systems Administration

  • Support cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Manage user access, storage, and compute resources
  • Monitor cloud costs and performance

5. Security & Compliance

  • Implement security best practices (patching, antivirus, firewalls)
  • Monitor logs and respond to security incidents
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies

6. Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Maintain backup systems and schedules
  • Perform recovery drills and ensure data integrity

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain infrastructure documentation
  • Update SOPs, knowledge base articles
  • Generate performance and incident reports

Required Skills:

Technical Skills

  • Windows Server / Linux Administration
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP basics)
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Backup solutions and DR planning

Tools & Technologies

  • Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
  • Ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Bash basic to intermediate)

Experience:

  • 25 years in IT infrastructure or system administration
  • Experience in L2 support or similar role

Soft Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in shifts/on-call environments
  • Team collaboration and documentation skills
