Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer (Techno-Functional) with strong wealth and broking domain knowledge and solid expertise in MS SQL and PL/SQL. The role involves L2/L3 support for business-critical financial applications, ensuring high system availability, performance, and reliability in a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for wealth management and broking platforms
- Diagnose, analyze, and resolve application issues using MS SQL, PL/SQL, and debugging techniques
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive solutions
Functional & Domain Support
- Apply strong understanding of wealth management and broking operations to support business workflows
- Assist business users by translating functional issues into technical resolutions
- Support critical market-hour issues with minimal business disruption
Incident & Change Management
- Handle incidents, problems, and changes as per ITIL best practices
- Ensure timely resolution of issues while meeting defined SLAs
- Coordinate with development, DBA, and infrastructure teams for complex issue resolution
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation
- Contribute to knowledge base and SOPs for faster issue resolution
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- 45 years of experience in Application Support
- Prior experience in Wealth Management, Broking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services is mandatory
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in MS SQL and PL/SQL
- Application troubleshooting and debugging
- Good understanding of database concepts and data models
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of wealth & broking business processes
- Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting trading, portfolio, or back-office systems is a plus
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure during market hours
- Team-oriented with a strong customer-first mindset
