Job Description:
We are looking for a Product Support Engineer to support and maintain data platforms and production systems for a cloud-based EdTech environment. The role involves troubleshootingSpark/Hive jobs, monitoring ETL workflows, handling production incidents, supporting batch processes, and ensuring platform reliability.
The ideal candidate should have experience in production/application support along with exposure to big data technologies and data engineering workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support production applications, Spark jobs, and batch workflows
- Troubleshoot ETL/data pipeline failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
- Support Hive/Spark-based data processing systems and investigate job failures
- Handle L1/L2/L3 production support incidents and maintain SLA adherence
- Perform SQL queries, log analysis, and data validation for issue resolution
- Work with APIs, backend systems, and production logs for troubleshooting
- Coordinate with engineering and data teams for deployments, fixes, and enhancements
- Monitor job executions, alerts, and system health proactively
- Maintain RCA documents, incident reports, and support documentation
Required Skills:
- Experience in Product/Application/Production Support
- Hands-on exposure to Apache Spark, Hive, or big data ecosystems
- Understanding of ETL/data pipelines and batch processing workflows
- Strong SQL knowledge
- Experience in API troubleshooting and log analysis
- Linux/Unix basics and scripting exposure
- Familiarity with monitoring/ticketing tools like Jira, Kibana, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc.
- Exposure to Python or Shell scripting
- Good understanding of incident management and production support processes
Good to Have:
- Exposure to Airflow, Hadoop ecosystem, or Kafka
- Experience supporting SaaS or data-driven platforms
- Understanding of cloud-based production environments
