About The Role
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused
Application Support Engineer to join our support team. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting abilities, good SQL knowledge, and a passion for resolving application-related issues. You will be responsible for ensuring application availability, providing technical support to end users, and collaborating with development teams to resolve production issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support business-critical applications to ensure high availability and performance.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues reported by users or monitoring systems.
- Analyze logs, database records, and system behavior to identify root causes of incidents.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Coordinate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Track incidents and service requests using ticketing tools while meeting defined SLAs.
- Perform application health checks and monitor system performance.
- Assist with application deployments, patches, and release support.
- Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in on-call support and production maintenance activities when required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including writing queries and data analysis.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of application support processes and incident management.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and basic web technologies.
- Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with application monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
- Basic scripting knowledge using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and production support.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in SQL, ITIL, Cloud, or Application Support are an added advantage.
