Summary:
As an OpenShift Configuration & Administration, you will Provide L1/L2 operational support for the OpenShift platform and hosted workloads. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve software-related challenges, ensuring the smooth operation of essential applications. You will engage in problem-solving activities, analyze system performance, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency, all while maintaining a focus on delivering exceptional service to stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Act as a support point for user issues related to namespaces, deployments, access, quotas, routes, storage, and platform availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform incidents impacting applications, pipelines, or users within defined SLAs.
- Participate in on-call and shift-based support rotations as part of infrastructure operations.
- Coordinate with application, DevOps, cloud, network, and security teams during major incidents.
- Monitor OpenShift clusters for health, performance, and capacity using standard monitoring and alerting tools.
- Perform routine cluster health checks covering nodes, pods, operators, and control plane components.
- Proactively identify risks such as resource exhaustion, node pressure, or failing workloads and take preventive action.
- Support platform availability and assist in failover or recovery activities when required.
- Support OpenShift networking components such as routes, ingresses, services, and service exposure.
- Maintain and update operational runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for OpenShift operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Openshift issues related to availability, connectivity, performance, capacity, and data access within defined SLAs.
- Participate in on call and shift based support rotations as part of the infrastructure operations model.
- Maintain accurate incident records and operational metrics for reporting.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Red Hat OpenShift.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with AWS CloudFormation.
- Additional Skills: AWS Cloud, Unix/Linux administration, Networking Fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of container orchestration and management.
- Familiarity with application monitoring and performance tuning.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Red Hat OpenShift.
- Flexible to work in Shifts during weekday & Weekend during India hours (7 AM - 10 PM IST)
- This position is based at our Pune office.
