Job Summary:
We are seeking an Application Specialist Ophthalmology with strong Vitreoretinal (VR) surgical experience to provide clinical, application, and training support for ophthalmic surgical products. The role involves close interaction with ophthalmologists, OT staff, and sales teams to ensure effective product usage, clinical excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Surgical Application Support
- Provide in-OT support during ophthalmic surgeries, especially Vitreoretinal procedures
- Assist surgeons with VR surgical systems, consumables, and accessories
- Support new product installations, evaluations, and clinical trials
- Ensure adherence to ophthalmic clinical standards and patient safety protocols
Training & Education
- Conduct product and procedure-based training for ophthalmologists, nurses, and OT technicians
- Support CMEs, workshops, wet labs, and product launch programs
- Act as the clinical ophthalmology expert for internal sales and marketing teams
Pre & post-sales Support
- Support sales teams in technical discussions and product positioning with ophthalmologists
- Address surgeon queries related to product application, performance, and outcomes
- Gather clinical feedback to support product improvement and strategy
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of case support, training programs, and installations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and company SOPs
Product Exposure (Ophthalmology)
- Vitreoretinal surgical platforms
- VR & Phaco consumables
- Endo-illumination and visualization systems
- Surgical microscopes
- Ophthalmic lasers and imaging systems (preferred)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of ophthalmology surgical workflows
- Hands-on experience in Vitreoretinal OT environments
- Excellent communication and surgeon interaction skills
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Optometry / Ophthalmic Technology / Biomedical Engineering / Life Sciences
- Relevant ophthalmology or surgical application certifications preferred
