Role Description The Application Specialist – Food Domain is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves providing application support for analytical chromatographic and mass spectrometric instruments used in food testing and quality control, including method development, method validation, and data interpretation. The specialist will conduct application trials, and training sessions for customers, Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting application-related issues, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with the sales and service teams to address customer needs. The role also includes adhering to the current with industry regulations and trends in the food domain, and supporting pre and post-sales activities with technical expertise. The role will be inhouse application support, on requirement the demonstrations need to be given at customer site.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills with 7 to 9 years experience in food Domain to interpret experimental data, optimize methods, and support food domain applications independently.
  • Proficiency in Application Support and Technical Support for chromatographic and mass spectrometric analytical instruments, preferably in the food testing or food safety domain.
  • Demonstrated Troubleshooting abilities for resolving application and instrument-related issues efficiently.
  • Effective Communication skills for delivering training, conducting demonstrations, and preparing clear technical reports and documentation.
  • Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques and Shimadzu LCMSMS instruments (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry) used in food analysis is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with customers on-site.
  • Willingness to travel as required for customer visits, trainings, and on-site support on specific requirements.
