We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Application & Infrastructure Decommissioning Analyst .

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and coordinate the full lifecycle of application & infrastructure decommissioning activities. Conduct thorough analysis of applications to determine decommissioning priority based on risk, cost, and business impact.
  • Validate pre-requisites for decommissioning including dependency checks, impact assessment, data archival, security signoffs and asset lifecycle update. Communicate decommissioning plans, progress, and risks effectively to senior stakeholders
  • Ensure removal of all supporting infrastructure components (Server, DBs, MWs, Network objects, backups, monitoring, load balancers, firewall rules, etc.)
  • Oversee the development and execution of data disposition strategies, including archival, migration, or secure deletion of customer data in accordance with data retention policies.
  • Ensure adherence to data retention, archival and deletion process as per regulatory and business requirements and manage the formal sign-off process for data destruction with legal and compliance officers.
  • Ensure all decommissioning actions meet internal audit, security, risk and compliance standards, and proactively manage decommissioning-associated issues or delays and mitigate project risks.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure zero technical debris & recharges, and for improving operational efficiencies and enhancing service quality. Monitor reduction in cost, power consumption and Co2 emissions resulting from decommissioning activities.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), decommissioning checklists and up to date process/reference guides.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in experience in IT project/program management, with a proven track record of successfully decommissioning complex enterprise applications, specifically those handling customer data (e.g., CRMs, Marketing Platforms, Data Warehouses).
  • Strong understanding of Service Now, ODS, Apptio, JIRA , uCMDB, on-premises, cloud environments and IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL and proven experience with project and programme management, primarily focused on IT Asset Management & Configuration Management
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN,VPN, FQDNs, Load balancers and relevant network hardware/software components. Good Knowledge of server administration and hygiene practices ( Windows/Linux/Mainframe)
  • Strong, practical knowledge of global data privacy laws and their implications for data retention and deletion.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills. Proficiency in Excel / VBA / Word/ PowerPoint / Visio skills
  • Experience of stakeholder management, process improvements, automation, risk management, and control(s) adherence.
  • Experience of working on large scale decoms, orphaned assets management process, data center exits/migrations would be an added advantage.
