1. Job Purpose
The Physics Faculty/Teacher will be responsible for teaching Physics and Optics-related courses prescribed within the Optometry programme in accordance with the curriculum of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP).
The faculty member will be responsible for developing students conceptual and practical understanding of Physics as applied to vision and optometry, with particular emphasis on Geometrical Optics, Physical Optics, Optometric Optics, Photometry, Radiometry, Psychophysics, optical instruments, and related applications.
The position requires the ability to translate fundamental Physics principles into clinically and optometrically relevant concepts and practical applications.
2. Key Teaching Responsibilities
The faculty member will be expected to teach and/or contribute to the following areas of the Optometry curriculum:
A. Mathematics and Geometrical Optics-I (Theory and Practical)
B. Physical Optics (Theory and Practical)
C. Geometrical Optics-II (Theory and Practical)
D. Visual Optics I (Unit-1)
E. Visual perception andPsychophysics ( Unit 2)
