Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Application Engineer with 35 years of experience in the pump manufacturing industry to support pre-sales and post-sales technical activities. The role involves pump selection, application engineering, technical proposals, and close coordination with customer, design, and manufacturing teams to deliver optimal pumping solutions to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Application & Technical Support
- Study customer enquiries, specifications and process requirements.
- Select suitable pumps based on flow, head, NPSH, fluid properties, temperature, pressure, and operating conditions.
- Prepare technical datasheets, GA drawings (in coordination with design if required), performance curves, and compliance documents.
- Ensure selected pumps meet industry standards such as ISO, or other customer-specific requirements.
Pre-Sales Support
- Provide technical support to the customer during bidding and order finalisation.
- Prepare techno-commercial inputs for quotations and tenders.
- Participate in technical discussions, clarifications, and customer meetings.
Post-Sales & Project Support
- Support order engineering activities and technical clarifications after order receipt.
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, quality, production, procurement) for smooth execution.
- Assist in resolving application-related issues during manufacturing, testing, or commissioning.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review customer specifications and prepare deviations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation as per project requirements.
- Support inspections, FATs, and customer audits when required.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of centrifugal pumps for Power, Water industry, etc., as applicable.
- Knowledge of pump hydraulics, materials of construction, seals, bearings, and auxiliaries like Electrical Motor, Lubrication oil system, Couplings, pump related instruments, etc.,
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical specifications, and standards.
- Familiarity with pumping applications such as Power & Water segments processes.
Software & Tools
- MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Pump selection software (preferred)
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD (added advantage)

- Good communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with Indian (Private & Government Entity) and international customers
- Exposure to EPC projects and tender-based businesses
- Experience in a pump manufacturing or engineering solutions company
- Basic understanding of commercial terms such as LD, Warranty, Payment terms, etc.,
