About The Role

The Linux Application Support Engineer – Python Automation at Terralogic is a vital role responsible for managing, supporting, and enhancing Linux-based applications, tools, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Linux administration, scripting, and automation to streamline operational processes and resolve technical issues efficiently. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, PMO, and IT to ensure the stability, security, and performance of critical applications and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Linux environments, proficiency in Python for automation, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and process improvement. They will play a key role in deploying updates, managing configurations, and implementing automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of three years supporting business or engineering applications and tools is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong Linux administration skills, particularly with distributions like Red Hat, Rocky Linux, or Ubuntu. Proficiency in Python development for scripting and automation, along with experience troubleshooting Linux servers, applications, and network connectivity issues, is required. Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash or equivalent), SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle will be advantageous. Experience with source code management tools like Git, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities are also necessary for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Linux-based tools, applications, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain Python scripts and applications to automate operational and engineering processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.
• Manage the deployment, upgrade, patching, and configuration of tools and applications, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications, databases, operating systems, and network connectivity, providing timely resolutions to minimize impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions that streamline workflows and improve operational processes.
• Maintain security compliance by managing access controls, performing regular backups, and executing disaster recovery procedures.
• Respond to user incidents, service requests, and enhancement requests, providing high-quality support and ensuring user satisfaction.
• Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.
