As an Application Engineer III, you'll leverage your expertise in React JS/Angular JS to build data-intensive applications that drive business success in the reinsurance industry.

About the Role

In this exciting role, you'll be at the forefront of front-end development, translating complex business requirements into elegant, user-friendly solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable applications that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, high-quality front-end applications using modern web technologies

  • Translate product requirements and UX designs into robust, maintainable implementations

  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, backend developers, and architects to deliver exceptional solutions

  • Build and maintain reusable UI components and front-end libraries aligned with design standards

  • Contribute to the evolution of frontend architecture, ensuring systems remain performant and scalable

  • Support integration of front-end components with APIs and backend services

  • Troubleshoot and resolve UI defects across development, testing, and production environments

  • Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of engineering practices

  • Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

  • Document technical designs, implementation decisions, and support handover when required

About the Team

Our team is the global L&H Reinsurance Engineering team, responsible for the technical Architecture and Engineering of IT solutions for the Reinsurance business unit. We are passionate about technology and building enterprise-grade products with a deep understanding of the reinsurance business. We closely collaborate with teams and colleagues around the globe to share knowledge and engineering solutions.

About You

We're looking for a collaborative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences. You have strong technical expertise combined with excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in frontend engineering with strong expertise in React/Angular JS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems

  • Strong understanding of core frontend concepts including rendering strategies, state management, performance optimization, and component architecture

  • Experience with API integration patterns and handling of asynchronous data, failures, and edge cases

  • Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Understanding of insurance/reinsurance business

  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser development

  • Knowledge of web performance optimization and debugging techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to work across cultures, geographies, and organizational levels

  • Comfort with ambiguity and leaving your comfort zone

  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement
