POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Application Engineer is responsible for preparing quotes, selecting appropriate products, determining price and availability, and providing technical and application support. The role evaluates customer requirements, interprets specifications, and proposes value-based engineered solutions while coordinating with internal engineering teams when needed.
Principal Activities
- Perform sizing and selection of control valves, desuperheaters, steam conditioning systems, and other pressure-related products.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and provide application engineering support to customers.
- Support Sales and Product Management teams by providing technical insights and recommendations.
- Review engineering documents, specifications, and inquiry data sheets to assess feasibility and compliance.
- Define optimal product configurations and interrelationships to meet functional and performance requirements.
- Prepare estimates and formal quotations for standard and non-standard products, ensuring profitability and adherence to delivery expectations.
- Maintain strong technical competency by staying current with industry standards and product updates.
- Maintain required documentation including quotations, logs, and proposal records.
- Engage directly with internal teams, external customers, distributors, and sales representatives.
- Understand customer applications thoroughly to recommend appropriate CIRCOR products.
- Respond promptly to technical queries regarding product selection and system solutions.
- Evaluate customer inquiries and develop formal proposals aligned with standards and customer expectations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of valves used in various power plant applications.
- Independently manage customer accounts, major projects, and overseas clients.
- Perform KPI tracking and conduct data analysis to support process improvements.
- Handle Public Tenders, including bid preparation, documentation, and compliance on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of international standards and specifications related to control valves.
- Deep understanding of materials and specifications used in control valve components.
- Experience working with reputed valve manufacturers, with strong application engineering exposure for power plant applications.
- Strong knowledge of application engineering principles and material selection.

Education & Experience
Education: BE in Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 8+ years in the control valve industry, including exposure to GeM public tender processes.
