Position Summary

Level: Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Deloitte Consulting, you will oversee the technical delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, lead cross-functional and global teams and mentor junior members. You will collaborate to understand functional requirements, support sales and proposal efforts, and drive end-to-end project delivery, including estimation and planning, to ensure successful outcomes.

Work you'll do:

Collaborate with the functional team and client to thoroughly understand business requirements. Oversee technical delivery by providing architectural and implementation recommendations. Lead documentation efforts, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices. Direct the design and development of solutions, ensuring timely delivery according to project plans. Work closely with project leadership to identify and escalate potential risks and prepare status reports. Mentor junior team members and facilitate communication between various teams within the engagement. Respond to proposals by providing accurate estimations and technical input, supporting the overall success and alignment of project objectives with client needs.

  • Architect end-to-end cloud solutions, including infrastructure, platforms, applications, and integrations.
  • Select appropriate cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and design for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop architectural blueprints, reference models, and integration patterns.
  • Assess requirements and design the target cloud architecture.
  • Select appropriate cloud services and migration strategies.
  • Guide engineering teams through implementation, testing, and cutover.
  • Present architectural decisions and progress to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Guide engineering and operations teams through cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects.
  • Establish best practices for cloud development, deployment, automation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure solutions comply with security, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, application owners, and IT teams to gather requirements and align cloud strategies with business goals.
  • Present architecture options, trade-offs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and architectures for ongoing optimization.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to cloud adoption, data integrity, and business continuity.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, validation processes, and rollback strategies.

Engineering as a Service provides complete design, implementation, and technology operations, leveraging our core engineering expertise. We transform engineering teams, modernize technology, and deliver complex programs with a product engineering approach. Our flexible delivery modelstraditional teams, pools, or podsare tailored to each client's needs, offering engineering-led advisory, implementation, and operational capabilities to accelerate innovation.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

  • 14+ years of industry experience, with at least 8+ Experience in large-scale, complex modernization/cloud projects.
  • At least 6 years experience Managing/leading/Architecting large-scale, complex cloud applications.
  • Proven track record in migrating mainframe applications to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
  • Deep experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Familiarity with cloud migration tools, automation frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to create architectural blueprints and solution designs for complex cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of integration, data migration, and modernization patterns.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures.
  • Understanding of compliance, regulatory, and security considerations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external vendors.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay current with advancements in generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering techniques.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, TOGAF) are a plus.

Education:

  • BE/B.Tech/M.C.A./M.Sc (CS) degree or equivalent from accredited university
