About Position:
A API Engineer is responsible not just for automation but for defining, governing, and scaling the engineering strategy for an entire program or product suite.

What You'll Do:
- Design and develop API proxies using Apigee (Edge/Hybrid) for enterprise-grade integrations
- Implement and manage Apigee policies including OAuth, JWT, Quota, Spike Arrest, and security controls
- Develop and maintain shared flows and reusable components for API standardization
- Configure and manage IBM DataPower services such as MPGW and WSP for API mediation
- Work on DataPower policy configurations, transformations, and gateway-level processing
- Participate in API migration projects, particularly transitioning APIs from DataPower to Apigee
- Design and implement REST APIs with strong focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Implement API security mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and mutual TLS (mTLS)
- Work with XML, JSON, and XSLT for data transformation and integration use cases
- Integrate APIs with backend systems using HTTP/S, SOAP, MQ, or other protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless API lifecycle management
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize API performance across platforms
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Strong experience in building API proxies, policies, and shared flows in Apigee
- Solid understanding of API security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and mTLS
- Hands-on experience with DataPower configurations, policies, and gateway implementations
- Experience or exposure to API migration projects (DataPower to Apigee is a strong plus)
- Strong knowledge of REST API design principles and integration patterns
- Proficiency in XML, JSON, and XSLT transformations
- Experience integrating APIs with backend systems using HTTP/S, SOAP, MQ, or similar protocols
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills with ability to work in cross-functional teams
