About the Role:
This role will be an experienced Travel Manager based in Asia to streamline corporate travel across Singapore, Australia, India, Malaysia and China. You will lead the regional migration to a single global travel provider (BCD), collaborating with the LII Global Travel Manager in London, BCD implementation teams, local stakeholders (Finance, HR, Security), and regional leadership. Your focus will be a seamless transition with strong policy adoption, high service standards, cost control, and traveler safety. The role also includes day-to-day support for VIP and executive travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the APAC transition to BCD
- Act as local/regional project lead and liaison between LII, BCD, and local offices.
- Support project planning, UAT, cutover, training, communications and go‑live activities.
- Coordinate local supplier integrations, legacy data migration and SSO/account setup where required.
- Track project milestones, risk/issues and escalate to the Global Travel Manager as needed.
- VIP and executive travel management
- Manage and book VIP/executive itineraries (air, rail, hotels, ground transport), including complex multi-leg itineraries and last-minute changes.
- Provide concierge-level support and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Coordinate visas, travel documentation and pre-travel briefings for senior leaders.
- Operational travel management & vendor oversight
- Oversee day-to-day travel bookings across assigned countries until BCD is fully operational and adoption stabilizes.
- Manage the relationship with BCD and local travel suppliers; ensure SLAs are met and performance is regularly reviewed.
- Work with Finance on invoicing, payment methods, card programs and reconciliations.
- Policy, compliance and cost control
- Drive adherence to corporate travel policy and procedures across the region.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities (fare and fare-class controls, negotiated rates, preferred hotels and ground providers).
- Monitor and report on travel spending, savings, exceptions and KPIs.
- Traveler safety & duty of care
- Work with Security/Travel Risk teams and BCD to ensure traveler tracking, emergency response and 24/7 support arrangements are in place.
- Escalate travel disruptions and provide timely communication and alternative arrangements.
- Reporting, training and stakeholder engagement
- Produce regular management reports and dashboards for Global Travel Manager and regional leadership.
- Deliver training and materials for travelers and local admin teams to support BCD adoption.
- Build strong internal relationships with HR, Finance, Security, IT and regional offices.
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years experience in corporate travel management or with a travel management company (TMC), with APAC region exposure.
- Demonstrated experience managing TMC relationships, preferably including participation in or leading a TMC migration/implementation.
- Proven track record booking VIP/executive travel and providing high-touch concierge support.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills; comfortable coordinating cross-border, cross-functional workstreams.
- Excellent knowledge of APAC travel markets, visa/immigration requirements and local travel supplier landscape.
- Practical knowledge of corporate booking tools and expense systems (experience with Concur, Amadeus/Sabre/Travelport or comparable systems preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and experience producing spend/KPI reports.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin, Hindi or another regional language is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours to cover APAC and coordinate with London time zone when necessary.
