Position Summary:

We are currently searching for an Sales Director who will be responsible for identifying and developing sales opportunities both independently and in collaboration with our global news distribution partners in the broader APAC region.

The ideal candidate will have a hunter type of profile and the desire to aggressively grow the MT Newswires footprint throughout the APAC region. The focus will be on growing business within the territory - both with existing and new accounts - by deploying a targeted sales strategy that includes building a healthy prospecting pipeline, developing strong industry relationships, and closing enterprise deals with large, recognizable financial firms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Originate new sales opportunities throughout the APAC territory to meet assigned sales goals and revenue targets
• Use appropriate techniques to build and manage a pipeline of new business targets and progress complex sales cycles
• Coordinate trials and manage product evaluations with prospective clients
• Establish relationships with key client contacts within the industry and contribute to strengthening the MT Newswires brand by representing the company at key events.
• Work collaboratively with MT Newswires network of distribution partners to optimise growth opportunities
• Contribute to the APAC growth strategy through pro-active knowledge of the territory, including market themes, competitive landscape, key contacts, etc.
• Undertake appropriate business travel to develop pipeline and key relationships

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of sales success within a B2B subscription environment within the publishing/data/business information industry. Financial news/data sales experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Extensive sales and relationship management experience is required, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong negotiation skills and able to influence key decision makers throughout the sales process.
• Entrepreneurial style, drive and sense of urgency, coupled with the ability to work well with others as part of a solution team. Strong problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision yet integrate appropriately with sales teams and other areas within MT Newswires when necessary.
• Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills and able to effectively manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
• Fluent in English essential with other core European languages highly desirable.
• Former sales or account managers at energy data/news providers (e.g., Argus Media, ICIS, Platts/S&P Global, Rystad Energy).
• Traders, brokers, or analysts who've moved into commercial roles and already understand oil, natural gas, power, renewables, and emissions markets.
• Candidates from energy utilities or commodity trading firms who sold market intelligence, risk management, or hedging solutions.

Schedule

• This role is fully remote with flexible working hours and potential for occasional local and international travel
