Founded in 2010 in Mumbai by four animal welfare advocates, the Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA) is a registered charity dedicated to promoting humane human-animal coexistence. YODA provides critical services such as medical care for injured or abandoned animals, behavioral rehabilitation, and sheltering animals in need until they are adopted or able to return to their environments. The organization is committed to reducing stray animal populations through vaccination and sterilization programs and works to combat diseases like rabies. YODA also focuses on educating and raising awareness to eliminate animal cruelty and foster compassion among communities.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Sanguem for an Animal Birth Control Center Manager. The manager will oversee the daily operations of the birth control center, including coordinating sterilization and vaccination programs for stray animals. Key responsibilities include managing the center's staff and resources, maintaining accurate medical and administrative records, and ensuring adherence to animal welfare standards. The individual will also be tasked with community engagement to promote awareness about sterilization and vaccination programs while actively collaborating with stakeholders, volunteers, and veterinary professionals.

Qualifications
  • Experience with team management, staff coordination, and resource planning
  • Familiarity with animal healthcare, sterilization programs, and vaccination processes
  • Strong communication and people management skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in organizational and administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records
  • Commitment to animal welfare and promoting humane practices
  • Prior experience in animal care, nonprofit organizations, or shelter management is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Public Health, or a related field is preferred
  • Flexibility to work on-site in Sanguem and adapt to varying operational needs
