Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Implement Material Design principles and leverage Android Architecture Components.
- Integrate databases (e.g., SQLite) and third-party APIs to enhance functionality.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG and AODA accessibility standards, including screen reader support (TalkBack), scalable text, color contrast, and touch target guidelines.
- Collaborate with designers and developers in an Agile team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in Kotlin and Java, with strong understanding of Android SDK.
- Experience with SQLite, REST APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso) and Git for version control.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience in implementing accessibility features and conducting accessibility testing for Android applications.
Preferred Certifications:
- Google Associate Android Developer or similar certification.
- Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or equivalent accessibility certification.
- Agile certification to demonstrate experience in Agile project methodologies.
