About The Role
We are looking for a skilled Android Developer proficient in Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain a high-performance native Android application. The candidate will work closely with the backend and design teams to deliver a seamless mobile experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin
- Implement UI designs using Jetpack Compose and Material 3
- Integrate REST APIs and WebSocket connections for real-time data
- Implement audio playback and background media services
- Handle push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- Work with local storage (Room DB) and caching strategies
- Ensure app performance, quality, and responsiveness
- Publish and manage releases on Google Play Store
- Write unit tests and UI tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (backend, design, QA)
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, Navigation Compose, ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow
- Familiarity with Retrofit/OkHttp for API integration
- Experience with WebSocket or real-time data handling
- Understanding of MVVM/MVI architecture patterns
- Experience with Hilt/Dagger for dependency injection
- Familiarity with ExoPlayer or media playback on Android
- Experience publishing apps on Google Play Store
- Good understanding of Android lifecycle, background services, and permissions
- Version control with Git
Good to Have
- Experience with Firebase (Auth, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics)
- Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of multilingual/i18n implementation on Android
- Experience with financial or data-intensive applications
Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2-5 years of professional Android development experience
- Portfolio or published apps on Play Store preferred
