Role Overview
We are looking for a Native Android Developer to build and maintain production-grade Android applications used in real-world deployments, not consumer-only apps.
You will work on:
- LENS View Mobile App
- LENS SAFER mobile workflows
- Alerts, approvals, monitoring, and field-level interactions
This role requires strong fundamentals, ownership, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Android Application Development
- Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
- Implement features aligned with enterprise workflows such as:
- Alerts & notifications
- Dashboards & monitoring views
- Approval flows
- Field usage and operational screens
Integration & Performance
- Integrate Android apps with backend APIs and real-time systems.
- Ensure app performance, stability, and responsiveness.
- Handle edge cases related to network latency, permissions, and device constraints.
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with:
- Backend engineers
- QA engineers
- Business Analysts
- Support teams
- Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, and release planning.
Maintenance & Improvement
- Fix bugs, improve performance, and enhance usability.
- Support production issues when required and ensure smooth releases.
Required Skills & Experience
- 25 years of experience in native Android development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
Experience with:
- REST APIs
- JSON-based data exchange
- Android SDK & Jetpack components
Good understanding of:
- App lifecycle
- Permissions
- Background services
- Notifications
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Experience working on enterprise or B2B applications.
Familiarity with:
- MVVM or similar architectures
- Real-time data handling
- Secure authentication flows
- Exposure to apps used in field operations or infrastructure environments.
