About this opportunityIn this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Android application(s) using Kotlin, Java, Android Studio and Junit, Espresso on the Advanced Camera Module subset of the Raleigh Machine Learning team. As an Android Developer you will be responsible to use best coding practices to write and maintain features and write automated unit tests.
In this role, you will…- Write and maintain Android applications in Kotlin
- Actively engage with other team members to share product and domain knowledge
- Work with cross functional teams to review and resolve dependencies
- Write automated unit tests for faster feature validation
- Verify apps for performance, availability, and usability
- Identify and articulate recommended UI/UX patterns to designers
- Continuously evaluate and incorporate new technologies to enhance application performance
- Identify tools and techniques help to re-use code across platforms
- Participate in an Agile software development process (Scrum)
- Work closely with software engineers, software quality engineers, cloud infrastructure engineers, and machine learning research scientists
In this role, you'll need …- Bachelor's degree in CS/CSE/IT
- 4+ years of Android development experience
- Proficient knowledge of Android SDK and Android Studio
- Hands-on experience in Kotlin and experience with Kotlin Flows
- Proficiency using Git
- Experience with ML Kit Facedetector and Labeler
- Hands-on experience with CameraX
- Experience implementing secure, transactional applications integrated with web-based services
- Proficiency in data storing technologies for Android applications
- Experience writing automated unit tests and a TDD approach
- Understanding of CI/CD integration
- Understanding of MVP and MVVM design patterns
- Understanding of Google Recommended User Interface design practices and implementation approaches
- Strong communication and English language skills (read/writing)
- Passion for quality and attention to detail
