Job Description

This role focuses on creating high-quality mesh models for sheet metal, plastic trims, and powertrain components in alignment with safety standards and project timelines. The analytical engineer studies and cleans up CAD data, performs detailed meshing work, and collaborates closely with a large engineering team to ensure accurate, timely deliverables. The position requires strong technical expertise in HyperMesh, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Mesh sheet metal, plastic trims, casting assemblies, and powertrain components in accordance with safety standards and project requirements.
  • Study CAD models, assess CAD quality, identify issues, and perform comprehensive CAD cleanup.
  • Perform variable thickness measurement and assignment to ensure accurate representation of components in the mesh.
  • Produce high-quality mesh models that meet defined quality criteria and can be used reliably in downstream analysis.
  • Review complete assemblies, identify penetrations and intersections, and resolve these issues to deliver clean, analysis-ready models.
  • Work independently to review, refine, and deliver assemblies while maintaining accountability for quality and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with a large, cross-functional team and communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and solutions.

  • Proficiency in checking CAD quality, identifying issues, and performing CAD cleanup.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform variable thickness measurement and assignment within CAD and meshing workflows.
  • Hands-on experience in meshing sheet metal components in line with safety guidelines using HyperMesh.
  • Hands-on experience in meshing plastic trims and casting components as per safety standards.
  • Ability to review and deliver complete assemblies independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify and clear penetrations and intersections within complex assemblies.
  • Capability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to new processes and project requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working within large engineering teams on complex assemblies.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting tight delivery timelines and managing priorities effectively.
  • Proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge.
  • Quick-learning mindset and openness to adopting new tools, standards, and best practices.

Work Environment
