Job Description

What You'll Do

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead strategic supplier management for categories related to Turned parts, Fasteners, Machining as part Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team.

The applicant will be responsible for working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity which is pivotal in driving SCM KPIs, optimizing supplier performance, and supporting Eaton's strategic goals of cost-out, resiliency, and supply base consolidation.

Candidate to engage in identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost out opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects along with supplier management. The applicant should have capability to analyze commodity spend data & leverage data analytics & ideation principles to create new project costout opportunities.

The incumbent needs to have basic component level related to plastic injection molding components design and development knowledge, application and suppliers.

  • Supplier Engagement: Establish direct connect with suppliers to drive performance, compliance, and engage/drive cost-out initiatives.
  • Spend Analysis & Categorization: Analyze supplier spend by part type, ledger, and division; attribute and clean data for actionable insights.
  • SCM KPI Delivery: Monitor and improve KPIs such as cost-out, DPO, working capital improvement, and resiliency targets.
  • Strategy Execution: Implement strategies for supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, exit/resourcing dec, and RFQ execution in alignment with category managers
  • Fact Pack Development: Build supplier profiles and negotiation packages to support strategic decisions and site alignment.
  • Tail Spend Optimization: Apply 80/20 analysis and volume aggregation to rationalize parts and reduce supplier base complexity.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with category managers, engineering, and plant teams to align sourcing decisions with business priorities.
  • Digital Tools & Reporting: Leverage analytics platforms and dashboards to track supplier performance and project outcomes.

Qualifications


Minimum education for this position is a Bachelor / Masters in Mechanical Engineering / Polymer Engineering, with demonstrated experience in technical engineering organization

3-5 years of experience with multinational engineering organization

Skills

Hands on knowledge of Value Engineering principles & Platics, its Raw material will have added advantage

Knowledge about Automotive or Electrical products like LV /MV switchgears, Transformer, Regulators etc.

A) Strong knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & Project)

B) Ability to communicate clearly & effectively in person , via e-mail and over phone

C) Proficient in the development and tracking of internal metrics

D) Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.

E) Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from associates to the leadership team.Work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team.

F) Data Analytics- Ability to identify opportunities driving economic value based on data analysis'
