To be successful as an Analyst Data operations, you should have experience with:

  • B.Com (Pass/Hons)/MBA or equivalent with 6+ years of experience in Finance, Banking, Reconciliation, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Statements, core accounting principles, and financial services processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Finance (SAP FI/CO), including GL, AP/AR, Master Data, and reconciliation functionalities.
  • Basic understanding of Reference Data Management (cost centers, GL accounts, profit centers, etc.) and SAP elements for performing impact assessments on new projects or system changes.
  • Good proficiency in SAP and MS Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of SOX controls, compliance frameworks, and internal control environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, automation, or standardization of SAP-related finance processes.
  • Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Skillsets/ Good To Have

  • Operational Excellence (SAP-Focused)
  • Address and resolve SAP-related operational issues promptly to avoid business disruption.
  • Provide Level 2/3 functional support to Finance/Business teams for SAP FI-related reconciliation breaks, suspense/open item issues, and financial discrepancies.
  • Monitor data flows between upstream and downstream systems, ensuring SAP interfaces are functioning correctly; proactively investigate and resolve data breaks.
  • Work closely with Financial Control, Product Control, and Line Manager to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct variance analysis and ensure deep understanding of drivers impacting financial performance within SAP.
  • Support operational governance by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely SAP postings, reconciliations, and controls.
  • Support Finance transformation initiatives, SAP enhancement projects, and system upgrades by providing operational insights and impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure SAP solution designs align with business and operational objectives.
  • Respond to adhoc SAP/Finance queries while maintaining quality and turnaround expectations.
  • Ensure strong control and compliance environment within SAP processes, maintaining process documentation, SOPs, and audit-readiness.

Purpose of the role


To enable data-driven strategic and operational decision making through extracting actionable insights from large datasets, performing statistical and advanced analytics to uncover trends and patterns, and presenting findings through clear visualisations and reports.

Accountabilities

  • Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification, documenting data sources, methodologies, and quality findings with recommendations for improvement.
  • Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques to large datasets to uncover trends and correlations, develop validated logical data models, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations that drive operational and process improvements, leveraging machine learning/AI.
  • Through data-driven analysis, translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations, identifying opportunities for operational and process improvements.
  • Design and create interactive dashboards and visual reports using applicable tools and automate reporting processes for regular and ad-hoc stakeholder needs.
