At American Express, Third-Party Risk Management is critical to organizational success as our teams of experts reduce our exposure to risk by researching and vetting potential third party relationships. As part of the Third-Party Lifecycle Management program, you will have the opportunity to work with different lines of businesses globally, learn about supplier management, risk triggers and requirements of various bank regulations.
How will you make an impact in this role
This individual will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of Governance, Compliance and Quality Control including:
Performing quality control reviews, assisting in identifying opportunities to enhance the process, leveraging key documentation, and systems to perform reviews
Monitoring and tracking resolution of defects and escalating any potential gaps
Ensuring issues identified are properly dispositioned, appropriately documented, reported, and completed according to standards and timelines
Supporting the overall implementation and governance of Global Supply Management Process Risk Self-Assessment framework
Supporting timely follow-up, escalation and sustained resolution of identified control issues, deficiencies, and risk events
Communicating concerns with all parties engaged, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing procedures
Ensuring adherence to policies, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Maintaining effective working relationships with business partners
Performing special projects, compiling data, preparing reports, and assisting with audits/exams
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of work experience.
Ability to quickly gain an understanding of systems and processes
Ability to multi-task, work in a constantly changing and deadline-driven environment. Comfortable challenging the status quo and thinks outside the box.
A good team player with high standards of integrity
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to set priorities, resolve issues, provide guidance, secure engagements and commitments from teams across multiple locations in a highly matrixed organization.
Experience in risk, audit, compliance, controls or quality management (quality assurance or quality control) preferred
Strong Excel/Access and Power-Point skills
Requires a flexible schedule to accommodate different time zones
