Financial Planning & Analysis (Preferred candidates from Mumbai location only)
We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded FP&A Analyst to join Cerberus. In this role, you will support the firm's financial planning and analysis processes, contribute to strategic decision-making, and partner with cross-functional teams across the organisation. Your work will help inform key business decisions by providing accurate analysis and actionable insights. This role will play an important part in supporting newly established FP&A capabilities and is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and is eager to grow within a high-performing finance function. The position offers exposure to senior stakeholders and a strong opportunity for professional development within FP&A.
Responsibilities
- Support core FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and recurring management reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial insights.
- Assist with profitability and cost attribution analysis by business line or desk, helping to enhance transparency and support data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic and ad hoc analyses, including cost optimisation initiatives, geographic footprint reviews, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to support compensation and headcount planning, including analysis of base salary, bonus, and incentive budgets.
- Help drive process improvements and automation efforts, leveraging tools such as Anaplan and Excel to improve scalability, accuracy, and reporting efficiency.
- Prepare clear and concise financial analyses and presentations for senior management, supporting discussions on workforce planning, budget performance, and key financial drivers.
Skills & Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or a related analytical finance role; exposure to asset management, private equity, hedge funds, or alternative investments is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Solid foundational knowledge of accounting principles, with exposure to consolidation and partnership structures beneficial.
- Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling, data analysis, and the ability to work with large datasets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Exposure to Anaplan or other financial planning systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders (e.g. HR, IT, Operations, Tax, Legal).
