Job Title: Analysis Engineer
Job Description
The Analysis Engineer will develop and analyze automotive assemblies and system models, with a strong focus on NVH and structural performance. This role involves creating accurate 2D and 3D models, performing modal analysis using Nastran and Optistruct, and ensuring models are robust, debuggable, and production-ready. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in automotive domain modeling, strong technical proficiency in industry-standard CAE tools, and clear verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Build detailed automotive assemblies for trim body and powertrain applications.
- Create accurate 2D and 3D models, including all necessary connections, to support simulation and analysis.
- Develop and maintain system models for key automotive subsystems such as BIW, closures, instrument panel and console, seating, engine, exhaust, driveline, and transmission.
- Perform modal analysis using Nastran and Optistruct, including solution types such as SOL 103 and SOL 111.
- Debug models to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that all models are stable, consistent, and fully runnable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to interpret analysis results and support design decisions.
- Document modeling approaches, analysis setups, and results clearly and concisely for technical reports and reviews.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendations in both verbal and written form.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in building automotive assemblies, including trim body and powertrain.
- Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling and in creating and managing model connections.
- Hands-on experience in building system models for BIW, closures, instrument panel and console, seating, engine, exhaust, driveline, and transmission.
- Practical experience performing modal analysis using Nastran and Optistruct, including SOL 103 and SOL 111.
- Ability to debug complex CAE models and deliver fully runnable models.
- Proficiency with Hypermesh for pre-processing and model setup.
- Proficiency with ANSA for model preparation and management.
- Working knowledge of Nastran and Optistruct solvers in an automotive context.
- Experience in the automotive domain, particularly related to NVH and structural analysis.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with NVH-related analysis and methodologies.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering processes and product development cycles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in model setup and validation.
Work Environment
The role operates in a professional engineering environment focused on automotive product development and virtual validation. You will work extensively with CAE tools such as Hypermesh, ANSA, Nastran, and Optistruct to build and analyze complex automotive models. The position typically follows standard office hours, with flexibility based on project timelines and deliverables. Work is primarily computer-based in a collaborative setting, involving regular interaction with design, development, and analysis teams. The dress code is generally business casual, appropriate for an office and technical meeting environment.
