ü Efficient in various anesthetic techniques and procedures – MAC, Regional and general anesthesia techniques, all kinds of vascular access (CVP, arterial line, Haemodialysis catheter), USG guided nerve blocks.

ü Should be able to handle emergencies in ICU and emergency wards

ü To develop the department overall and the subspecialties for the same

ü Actively contribute to the academic aspects concerning their departments

ü Guide and educate the paramedical staff in implementing the various protocols

ü To ensure safe patient care in the hospital

ü To ensure accurate, legible and detailed documentation of patient data, discussions and advice, in all the necessary records

ü To effectively implement the goals and objectives of the department

ü To Conducting classes for Clinical and Non-Clinical staffs in Basic Emergency

ü To effectively coordinate with colleagues of other clinical department for the smooth management of patients

ü To Conduct daily ICU rounds

ü To assist in regular clinical audit and to improve the clinical functions

ü To adhere to the code of medical ethics

ü To Formulate treatment plans

ü Ensuring case file documentation

Pre-Anaesthesia Check (PAC)

ü For all patients who are scheduled for surgery.

ü Anaesthesia plan should be documented and relevant PIB's to be given to patients

ü DVT Prophylaxis plan

ü To co-ordinate and communicate with panel surgeons and other consultants in the hospital for better delivery of anaesthesia care/emergency services/pain relief

ü Scheduling OR list.

ü Updating of OR list in HMIS daily

Operation Theatre

ü Smooth functioning of OR

ü Training of OR staffs for various procedures

ü Overseeing OR equipment maintenance, AMC's

ü Maintain Narcotic register

ü Good record keeping-Should be comprehensive, accurate, timely and legible.

ü Ensuring patient safety

ü Ensure regular clinical audit to improve clinical function

OR CQI's (Continuous Quality Improvement)

ü Anaesthesia register

ü Post-operative rounds, pain management and follow –up of post-op patients.

ü Pain management of patient's across hospital

ü In absence of senior ensure smooth function of department

ü Updation of Anaesthesia CQIs in HMIS

Recovery Room

ü Care of recovery room patients

ü Ensure smooth transfer of patient from recovery room to ward or ICU

Emergency ward Incharge

ü Responsible for smooth functioning of ER

ü Training of ER nurses

ü Regular Clinical Audits in ER

ü Help in recruitment of ER nurses by taking interviews

ü Will ensure CQI's of ER done

ü Regular review of ER protocols and policies

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

ü In absence of Intensivist, manage ICU

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

ü Periodic evaluation and maintain readiness of all emergency equipments, monitors, ambulance and Central oxygen and vacuum lines.

ü Equipment maintenance, AMC's

Emergency and Code blue

ü Ascertaining emergencies are attended to

ü Training of ER nurses

ü Attending code blue

ü Training of various personnel for BLS and ACLS

ü Training staff to handle emergencies

ü Checking all crash carts daily

ü Academic activities- journal clubs, presentations and publications in various forums

ü CPR Committee- Participating actively in all meetings and active contribution for the development of code blue team, analyzing code blues and taking measures to bring down code blue no s in the hospital.

ü To attend interdepartmental meetings
