As a Backend Node.js Developer, you will play a key role in building and scaling high-performance backend systems that power mission-critical applications. You will design robust APIs, develop microservices, and contribute to architecture decisions that enhance system reliability, scalability, and security. What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability for high-traffic environments.
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure data protection standards are met.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing across the team.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the technology stack.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building backend applications with Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern backend development practices.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Proficiency with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Aerospike or similar high-performance databases.
- Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Nice To Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic.
- Experience building highly scalable, high-availability systems in production environments.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and system optimization techniques.
