Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for an AM / SE – Vendor Development & Costing professional. The role involves identifying, evaluating, and onboarding vendors to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements for motorcycle components and related parts. The person will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as procurement, engineering, quality, and production to optimize vendor performance and ensure cost-effective sourcing strategies. Daily responsibilities include cost analysis, negotiation support, supplier performance tracking, and participation in business planning activities related to vendor development. The role also includes preparing reports, supporting internal stakeholders with data-driven insights, and coordinating training or guidance for vendors on Royal Enfield standards and processes.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Business Planning and Sales-related skills to support vendor development strategies and commercial negotiations.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to conduct costing analysis, evaluate supplier performance, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and to document processes clearly.
  • Candidates should possess Training-related skills to guide vendors and internal stakeholders on standards, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant experience in vendor development, procurement, or supply chain management in automotive or manufacturing industries is beneficial.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with costing methodologies, quality standards, and ERP or procurement systems will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment is required.
