Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Procurement is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely sourcing of materials and services, vendor management, cost optimization, contract negotiations, and maintaining compliance with company procurement policies. The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted supply while achieving quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors.
- Source materials, equipment, and services as per business requirements.
- Obtain quotations, conduct comparative analysis, and negotiate with suppliers.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor procurement activities to ensure adherence to budgets and procurement policies.
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations on quality, cost, delivery, and service parameters.
- Resolve supplier-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure vendor compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
Cost Management
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to optimize procurement costs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and procurement efficiencies.
Inventory & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Planning, and Stores teams.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
- Support demand planning and procurement forecasting activities.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and audit standards.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Prepare procurement reports, MIS, spend analysis, and cost-saving reports for management review.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate
- Min 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
