JOB PURPOSE
JOB PURPOSE
- Conduct joint inspection, and functionality test (integration where applicable) of all Fire Detection/Alarm systems installed at Terminals and GHIAL Buildings.
- Conduct joint inspection and functionality test of all Fire Protection systems installed at Terminals and GHIAL Buildings.
- Ensure periodical inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers are being carried out as per schedule.
- Ensure HPT failure, damaged/rejected and life expired fire extinguishers are disposed of to central store with records.
- Carryout joint inspection & testing of all fire pump house and maintain record.
- Conduct training to various stakeholders in the field of fire safety.
- Ensure joint test and drain of Fire Hydrants and Fire Sprinklers are carried out as per TS schedule.
- Carryout joint inspection of evacuation routes (exits/staircases & corridors, signages and assembly area) of terminals and other buildings and ensure its serviceability with records.
- Ensure all Fire Prevention records are maintained and updated for the purpose of Audit by internal/external team.
- Perform the duty of Sub Commander in shift (at SFS) as when required.

Key Accountabilities
Accountabilities
- Joint inspection and Testing of Fire detection and Alarm Systems
- Joint inspection of all evacuation routes (staircases/exits, corridors) and assembly area.
- Integrations test of all third party building systems at terminals.
- Ensure health of all the fire protection system by periodical testing and draining.
- Training to the occupants of the terminal in basic fire safety.
- Periodical audit of the fixed fire protection systems in the airport including the Fire Pump Houses.
- Ensure mandatory test of fire extinguishers and refilling
- Conducting joint inspection & testing of all fire pump house and maintain record.

- Airlines & ground handlers: For arranging basic firefighting training.
- CISF: For hassle free entry/exit at terminals.

- TS: For Joint testing and rectification of observations related to fire detection & protection systems.
- IT: For timely rectification of IT related observations in the fire protection/detection systems.
- Terminal Operations: For timely rectification of the observations related to fire safety in the terminals
- Commercial: For timely rectification of the observations related to fire safety in the concessionaire's shop/airline offices
- Safety: To function as a JIT member for fire safety

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- BE Fire, GIFire (India/UK), Graduate preferably with science from any recognized University.
- JFO or equivalent Course from any Aviation Fire Training Centres/ GMRAA.
- Proficiency in Computers.
- Good knowledge about NFPA, NBC, IS standards related to fire safety.
