Job Description

Job Title: Alteryx Admin

Experience Level

P2, C3, STS (Implied mid-to-senior level experience)

Key Responsibilities

As an Alteryx Admin, you will:

  • Alteryx Server Management: Manage Alteryx Server, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance. Handle server failure management, restarts, and test server management.
  • Gallery Administration: Administer Alteryx Gallery settings, user roles, subscriptions, user permissions, and group management.
  • Data Source Integration: Configure new data sources as per client requirements and integrate various data sources with Alteryx Server.
  • Workflow Management & Automation: Create custom Alteryx workflows from repository data. Schedule, automate, and manage workflows, including Alteryx workflow migration.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor disk usage, job queueing, and license allocations to ensure efficient operation.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot issues effectively using Alteryx Server logs.
  • Post-Patching Validation: Conduct post-server patching tests to confirm report functionality and server performance.
  • Software Upgrades: Keep software up to date, including DB2 driver, Vertica driver, Mongo DB, and Oracle driver (downloading from Alteryx website).
  • Enterprise Transformation: Contribute to enterprise transformation initiatives, focusing on resiliency and IAM (Identity and Access Management) adoption.
  • Topology: Assist in building out Alteryx topology.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Technical Proficiency:

  • Alteryx Server Administration: Proficiency in managing and configuring Alteryx Server, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Alteryx Gallery Administration: Knowledge of Gallery settings, user roles, and permissions management.
  • Alteryx Workflow Management: Skills in scheduling, automating, and managing workflows, including Alteryx workflow migration.
  • Data Source Integration: Ability to integrate various data sources with Alteryx Server.
  • Alteryx Designer: Hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer.
  • Database Driver Management: Experience with software upgrades for DB2 driver, Vertica driver, Mongo DB, and Oracle driver.
  • Enterprise Transformation Concepts: Understanding and experience with concepts related to Resiliency and IAM adoption.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing Alteryx upgrades and troubleshooting Alteryx Server issues.
  • Experience in monitoring server performance metrics (disk usage, job queueing, license allocations).

Essential Professional Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve server issues.
  • Ability to manage complex configurations and adhere to client requirements.
  • Ability to ensure backups run efficiently.
  • (Implicit) Strong organizational skills for managing various server tasks.
