Global Delivery is a critical part of the business operations at State Street. We have around 29,000 staff across various locations around the world including our key hubs in EMEA, APAC and North America and our global hubs in Hangzhou, China, Krakow and Gdansk in Poland and Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune and Mumbai in India.

Functionally, we are the backbone and nerve center supporting the entire investment servicing lifecycle across our key asset classes - Asset Management, Asset Owners, Insurance, Alternatives including PE, RE and Hedge and the Official Institutions and a wide spectrum of investment servicing products.

Global Delivery India is an integral part of our global operations delivering custody, accounting, fund administration, alternatives, middle office, transfer agency and on-boarding services across multiple client segments, investment structures and domiciles.

We are looking to hire for Global Delivery Alternative Investment Services Loan Operations, India - Managing Director, a part of the Global Delivery India management team and the Global Alternative Investment Services leadership team.

We are open to consider candidates who are based inChennai where we have a significant presence in India

What you will be responsible for

Critical business priorities:

  • Providing leadership expertise and oversight of the operations of AIS Bank Loans in India
  • Proven track record in leading a diverse group of resources and driving operational excellence
  • Ensure consistency across policy, standards, process and procedure
  • Provide partnership with our stakeholders, support and assurance to enable effective delivery
  • Improve quality of service delivery within the business, control environment and productivity
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation / best practices and ensure compliance
  • Evolve the operating model to drive scalability & client centricity, best in class operations with leading industry standards
  • Effectively partner with IT and Client side of the organization
  • Change agent mentality with the business acumen to interact with senior business stakeholders across the global organization possessing the ability to offer creative solutions to meet all party requirements

Role Definition:

  • Good understanding of Bank loan asset classes and the multiple internal and external dependencies required to successfully manage the end client delivery carried out by multiple staff under oversight
  • Exposure to end-to-end Fund Accounting & Admin, Custody and Middle Office Operations, Risk Oversight and acumen to transform
  • Responsible for oversight of complex daily operations and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement: productivity, quality, and Risk Excellence
  • Act as leadership level escalation point for operational issues
  • Identify and develop opportunities for transformation and capacity creation. Drive productivity and operational effectiveness
  • Manage the senior leadership team and oversee all operational resolutions
  • Strive for cutting-edge solutions, that are resilient and scalable
  • Address custom client requests, manage production activities - VPs, AVPs and officer teams

  • Proven leadership skills as well as managing and developing a high performing operations team.

  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding financial goals through expense discipline and headcount management
  • Demonstrated ability to execute under challenging circumstances and deliver targeted outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and influence colleagues and virtual team members.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to connect with colleagues globally in a collaborative, open work environment. To serve as a role model of acceptance and flexibility in dealing with colleagues with varying backgrounds.

The candidate for the role will possess and/or be able to demonstrate:

  • Over 15 years experience running operations team within financial services.
  • Enterprise leadership skills managing client service delivery and business growth.
  • Experience interfacing at a senior level with clients, service providers and regulators.
  • Strong team leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and ethical decision-making skills
  • Focus on talent management, optimizing technology and managing operational risk
  • Energy, enthusiasm and an obsession with service quality and delivery to our clients
  • An ability to think strategically, managing complexity, change and multiple priorities
  • A successful association in major operational model or platform improvements
  • A relevant graduate degree or masters qualification that can be leveraged in this role

  • Willingness for regular business travel
