Job Description

As anAlokai Frontend Lead, you will collaborate with Product and Delivery Managers to architect and build highly scalable, performant applications. This role demands strong leadership and development skills, including facilitating change, driving design excellence, upholding code quality standards, and striving for continuous improvement. You will play a key role in shaping the technology choices for the program and ensuring a world-class customer experience.

Technology Landscape & Experience Required Expertise

  • 10+ years of experiencein implementing large-scale, multi-country, multi-languageeCommerce B2C websites, with strong expertise inJavaScriptand hands-on experience inReactandNext.js.
  • Proven ability to definefrontend architectureand design, with experience integrating eCommerce as a backend engine.
  • Leadership experience inHeadless Commerceimplementation projects across all SDLC phases.
  • Strong knowledge ofComposable Commerce Stacksand foundational understanding of platforms likeSalesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC)orCommerce tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of developers (onshore and offshore), providing technical and architectural guidance.
  • Conductcode reviewsto ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • UtilizeSonarfor code quality analysis and maintain adherence to best practices.
  • Deliver presentations, architectural blueprints, development policies, and documentation for technical solutions.
  • Drive best practices for design, coding, environment setup, and data management.
  • Translate business requirements into technical tasks, ensuring alignment with non-functional requirements like performance, security, and scalability.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Analysts to understand and solutionize customer requirements and process flows.
  • Oversee the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration.
  • BuildProofs-of-Concept (POC)to demonstrate potential technical solutions.
  • Establish development patterns, DevOps processes, and technical standards for teams.
  • Manage application architecture artifacts and continuously rationalize and simplify the user experience.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize forSEO,SSR, page performance, and accessibility (WCAG compliance).

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge ofHTML5,CSS(including preprocessors like LESS/SASS), and frameworks likeTailwind CSS.
  • Proficiency inJavaScriptandTypeScript, with advanced knowledge of frameworks such asReactandNext.js.
  • In-depth understanding ofheadless architectureand platform-specific implementations (e.g.,SFCC,Magento).
  • Experience withheadless CMSplatforms likeBuilder.ioorContentful.
  • Proficiency incode reviews, maintaining high standards of quality, and adherence to coding best practices.
  • Familiarity withSonaror similar tools for code quality, static analysis, and technical debt management.
  • Knowledge of API integrations, asynchronous requests, and debugging tools for partial page updates.
  • Strong grasp ofcommand-line build utilities(e.g., npm, Webpack) andversion control systemslike Bitbucket.
  • Expertise in delivering standard, compliant, and accessible solutions.
  • Experience withSEO optimization,SSR, and page performance troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with common design patterns and development methodologies.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • A strong eye for scope management, with sound judgment and a pragmatic approach to scope, budget, and timeline challenges.
