Job Description

  •  Administer RHEL Linux and IBM AIX servers.
  • Perform OS installation, configuration, upgrades, patching and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of AIX LVM — PV, VG, LV, filesystem management.
  • Work with LPAR, DLPAR, HMC and VIOS environments.
  • Basic/working knowledge of HACMP / PowerHA clustering.
  • Perform AIX TL/SP updates, APAR and eFix installation.
  • Linux package management, filesystem and disk administration.
  • Monitor performance using vmstat, iostat, sar, topas, nmon and netstat.
  • Generate and analyze NMON reports and perform performance tuning.
  • Handle incidents, service requests, problems and changes according to SLA.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource allocation.
  • Troubleshoot OS, filesystem, networking and user-access issues.
  • Experience with Shell/Bash scripting; Python/Ansible is an advantage.
  • Participate in 24×7/on-call production support.
  • Work with application, storage, backup and network teams.
  • Maintain security compliance and implement OS security patches.
