Mechanical Airframe Systems Design Engineer – Landing Gear, Fuel System, ECS, Hydraulics & Actuation

Work Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Role: Are you passionate about designing next-generation aerospace systems We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Airframe Systems Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to the development of advanced UAV platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and validate mechanical airframe systems including Landing Gear, Fuel Systems, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Hydraulics, and Actuation.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CATIA, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.
  • Perform structural, hydraulic, and thermal analyses to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including avionics, propulsion, flight controls, and manufacturing.
  • Prepare system requirements, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support prototype assembly, ground testing, flight trials, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards including AS9100, MIL-STD, and DO-160.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, manufacturability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace mechanical systems design.
  • Proven expertise in at least three of the following:

Landing Gear

Fuel Systems

Environmental Control Systems (ECS)

Hydraulics

Actuation Systems

  • Strong proficiency in CATIA, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks and PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, CFD, aerospace materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with aerospace and defense standards such as AS9100, MIL-STD, and DO-160.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • Experience with EASA Part 21, GCAA DOA, or equivalent certification environments.
  • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is an advantage.
