Job Description – Head – Air Freight Operations
Location: Mumbai
Department: Air Freight Operations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Air Import & Export Operations.
- Ensure timely shipment movement and adherence to customer SLAs.
- Coordinate with airlines, GSSA, agents, customs brokers, transporters, and overseas offices.
- Handle operational escalations and resolve customer issues promptly.
- Lead, train, and monitor the Air Freight Operations team.
- Monitor operational KPIs, shipment status, productivity, and service quality.
- Implement SOPs and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with customs, aviation, security, and DG requirements.
- Prepare operational MIS and report performance to senior management.
Candidate Profile
- 12–15+ years of experience in Air Freight Operations.
- Strong hands-on experience in Air Import & Export.
- Excellent knowledge of airline coordination, customs, documentation, and freight forwarding processes.
- Proven team leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer handling and operational escalation-management capabilities.
