We are looking for a Research Economist to help us study how AI is transforming internships, labor markets, skills, productivity, and workforce development ecosystems.
About the Role
As a Research Economist at Internset, you will work on measuring and understanding the economic impact of AI across education, internships, hiring, workforce development, and skill verification ecosystems.
You will help design new methodologies, build analytical frameworks, and generate research insights around how AI is reshaping employability, digital work, productivity, and workforce readiness.
This role sits at the intersection of economics, AI, labor-market research, and large-scale data systems.
Responsibilities
Conduct empirical research on AI's impact on:
- Labor markets and hiring trends
- Skill demand and workforce transformation
- Productivity and task automation
- Internship and early-career ecosystems
- Credentialing and digital trust systems
- Design analytical frameworks and economic models using large-scale datasets
- Build reports, indexes, and research publications around AI adoption and workforce intelligence
- Work with product and engineering teams to improve measurement systems and research infrastructure
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for organizations, educational institutions, and policymakers
- Contribute to whitepapers, public reports, presentations, and industry insights
- Collaborate with external researchers, economists, universities, and think tanks
You May Be a Good Fit If You Have
- Strong academic or professional background in Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, Data Science, or related fields
- Experience with:
