We're building a YouTube channel focused on video poems and kids content and we need someone who can drive it end to end using AI. You'll own everything from research and strategy to scripting, AI asset generation, and channel management. A dedicated video editor will handle the final assembly and polish your job is to give them everything they need and ensure every video is built for retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Research
- Identify trending and evergreen topics in kids content and video poetry using tools like Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Claude
- Build a monthly content calendar with video ideas, formats, and publishing schedule
- Research competitor channels to spot gaps and opportunities
Scripting & Storytelling
- Write hooks-first scripts optimized for retention the first 30 seconds must earn the watch
- Structure every video around a clear problem, payoff, and pacing arc
- Write in age-appropriate language for toddlers, early learners, and families
AI Asset Production
- Generate visuals, characters, and scenes using AI image and video tools Runway, Pika, Kling, Midjourney, Firefly, or equivalent
- Create voiceovers using ElevenLabs, PlayHT, or similar platforms
- Organize and deliver all AI-generated assets to the editor in a clear, structured format
- Build and refine prompting workflows that make asset production consistent and efficient
Editor Collaboration
- Write detailed edit briefs covering pacing, scene order, transitions, tone, and visual direction
- Review cuts and give structured, retention-focused feedback
- Ensure the final video matches the script's intended flow and energy before upload
Video Packaging
- Write SEO-optimized titles using keyword research and YouTube search intent
- Conceptualize thumbnails designed for click-through brief the editor or generate with AI
- Write descriptions, tags, chapters, and all metadata for every upload
Channel Management
- Handle the full YouTube Studio workflow: upload, cards, end screens, scheduling
- Track analytics CTR, watch time, retention curves and adjust strategy accordingly
- Manage community engagement: pinned comments, community tab, replies
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with AI generation tools: Runway, Pika, Kling, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, or similar
- Strong scriptwriting skills hooks, pacing, and storytelling built for video retention
- Ability to write warmly and clearly for children and families
- Experience briefing and collaborating with a video editor clear communication, structured feedback
- Deep understanding of YouTube SEO, the algorithm, and retention-focused content
- Comfortable in YouTube Studio analytics, backend management, upload workflow
- Self-directed and able to manage multiple videos across different stages simultaneously
Bonus Skills
- Prior YouTube channel experience, especially kids or educational content
- Familiarity with thumbnail design and A/B testing titles and thumbnails
- Experience with poetry, spoken word, or edutainment formats
- Basic video editing knowledge enough to review cuts with informed feedback
