Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMI/EMC modeling, simulation, and analysis of electronic systems including power electronics, highspeed digital designs, PCBs, cables, antenna, and enclosures.
  • Use fullwave and hybrid EM simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, FEKO, SIwave, Maxwell) to evaluate conducted and radiated emissions, coupling paths, and shielding effectiveness.
  • Provide designforEMC guidance covering PCB layout, grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and enclosure design.
  • Support UL and regulatory compliance efforts by predicting emissions, identifying risk areas, and recommending mitigation strategies prior to certification testing.
  • Assist with precompliance testing, simulation correlation with lab data, and resolution of EMI/EMC test failures.
  • Creating the V&V roadmap for different products as per UL Standard and conduct independent verification and validation and uncertainty quantification.
  • Work closely with hardware, PCB, power electronics, product, and compliance teams to translate standards into actionable design requirements.
  • Interface with UL labs and external test houses to support certification reviews, engineering judgments, and corrective actions.
  • Develop technical documentation, simulation reports, and compliance evidence to support UL submissions and internal design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal EMI/EMC design guidelines and best practices.

Qualifications

  • BE / ME / MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electromagnetics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of handson experience in EMI/EMC analysis, simulation, and validation for electronic systems.
  • Strong foundation in electromagnetic theory, EMI/EMC coupling mechanisms, shielding, grounding, and signal/power integrity.
  • Proficiency in EMI/EMC simulation tools (HFSS, CST, FEKO, SIwave, Maxwell) with demonstrated ability to correlate simulations to test data.
  • Working knowledge of global EMI/EMC and safety standards, including CISPR, IEC 61000, ISO 11452/7637, FCC, and UL standards.
  • Handson experience providing designforEMC guidance for PCB layout, grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and enclosure design, with the ability to influence hardware and PCB decisions to reduce EMI/EMC risk prior to certification.
  • Proven experience in EMI/EMC modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex electronic systems (power electronics, highspeed digital designs, PCBs, cables, antennas, and enclosures), including identification of emission sources and coupling paths.
  • Strong expertise in conducted and radiated emissions, including prediction, mitigation, and correlation of simulation results with laboratory test data to improve firstpass compliance.
  • Experience supporting products through UL certification, precompliance assessment, and failure root cause analysis.
  • Prior knowledge and experience of V&V in EMI/EMC simulation. Perform independent verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification to ensure model credibility and traceability. Establish correlation metrics between simulation and physical test data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex EM concepts to crossfunctional and customer teams.
  • Proactive mindset with interest in emerging technologies such as EVs, highvoltage systems, and fastswitching power electronics.
