Job Description

Job Summary:

To build and manage how Synergy Marine Group, its services, expertise and thought leadership are discovered, understood and cited across AI-driven search and answer platforms including Google AI Overviews/AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other emerging platforms.

The role will combine strong organic-search fundamentals with emerging expertise in Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), LLM visibility and citation intelligence.

This is a specialist AI-search role and will not own paid media, campaign management, CRM, social media or routine digital-marketing execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a structured framework for measuring Synergy's visibility, citations and competitive presence across major AI-search platforms.
  • Develop and implement AEO/GEO strategies, including structured experimentation around content, page structure, entity signals, schema, source authority and AI-search prompts.
  • Analyse which Synergy-owned and credible third-party sources are being used or cited by AI platforms, and identify opportunities to strengthen Synergy's citation footprint.
  • Track genuine commercial and shipowner-intent discovery across priority areas such as ship management, technical management, crew management, offshore management, newbuilding, alternative fuels and decarbonisation.
  • Benchmark Synergy's AI visibility against relevant global ship managers and identify content, authority and information gaps.
  • Monitor how Synergy, its leadership, capabilities and services are represented across AI platforms, flagging inaccurate, outdated or incomplete information for appropriate action.
  • Establish concise monthly reporting covering AI visibility, citation frequency, source diversity, competitor visibility, prompt-level movement, AI referral traffic where measurable, and recommended actions.

Candidate Preference:

  • Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience in search analytics, digital content optimisation or a related discipline, with recent hands-on exposure to AI search, AEO/GEO or generative discovery.
  • The candidate should have strong working knowledge of Google Search Console and GA4, familiarity with tools such as Semrush/Ahrefs, and a sound understanding of how search engines and LLMs discover, interpret and cite online information.
  • Strong analytical judgement and the ability to translate data into practical recommendations will be important.
  • Experience in maritime, B2B services or another technically complex sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
